Bryan is an experienced corporate lawyer and managing principal of the firm. He began his career practicing M&A and securities law at two leading New York City law firms: Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison LLP. His past transactional experience includes The Fresh Market’s US$300million IPO, INEOS Group’s US$500million divestiture of its flourochemicals business, multiple business transactions for IBM, several securities offerings for underwriters and issuers including JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Citigroup, Rite Aid, Alcoa and Goodrich, as well as various corporate matters for multi-national clients including Caesars Entertainment Group, Michael Kors, and Ivanhoe Mines.

In addition, Bryan is experienced in the following areas: (i) corporate reorgnizations, (ii) startup advisory, (iii) various business and commercial agreements, (iv) complex commercial leases, and (v) commercial real estate acquisitions and financing.

Immediately prior to joining Friedmans, Bryan served as Director & General Manager for Canada at Axiom, the world’s leading alternative legal services provider. While at Axiom, Bryan had overall responsibility for the growth and success of Axiom’s Canadian business and its more than 100 lawyers.

Bryan also co-founded and led an award-winning technology startup where, among other things, he secured pioneering, full-catalogue music streaming and social sharing deals with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group.

Bryan holds a J.D., with honours, from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law where he received the Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP Award for Academic Excellence.
